Nahanni Broken Skull: Exploratory Trip
The Broken Skull River is one of the Nahanni’s wild
tributaries. It has its headwaters high in the Mackenzie
Mountains near the mooseponds.
This exploratory trip
will start near the headwaters. We’ll decend the Broken
Skull to the Nahanni and then paddle down stream to Rabbitkettle
Lake - at total of 170 km.
View interactive map below for route details.
At Rabbitkettle Lake paddlers will
fly back to Fort Simpson but have the option of joining
a Nahanni
Classic trip and paddling the rest of
the Nahanni through the canyons to Lindbeg Landing.

The Broken Skull Exploratory trip is for experienced whitewater paddlers ready for the adventure of a first descent. We have not paddled the river before and we may encounter any number of challenges on the river.
Combine this trip with the Nahanni
Classic trip for the ultimate Nahanni
adventure.
