NAHANNI HIKE - THE RAM PLATEAU
Explore the rarely seen Ram Plateau - one of the majestic
highlights of the newly expanded Nahanni National Park.
Just
north of the South Nahanni River a dolomite dome rises
out of the Mackenzie Mountain.
This plateau is cut
by dramatic canyons and covered in wildflowers.
We’ll
fly in by helicopter and set up a dramatic alpine base
camp. From here we’ll hike out each day to explore
a different aspect of the plateau. Dalls sheep, caribou,
grizzlies and birds of prey are among the larger species
we may see. We’ll drink from crystal clear springs
as we search for small caves with unique biological
secrets.
No previous experience required -
any reasonably fit person will enjoy this adventure ‘on top of the world’.
